This, on how the history of Big Game always seems to tie together. There's connections between this odd pushed-back 2018 game, to 1982, to the great Stanford revenge of 1990, and more... Hope you all enjoy the game Saturday. Thanks for checking this out!

Can this board PLEASE do away with "Unbelievably Spoiled Children" as its U_S_C edit? It's such an impossibly lame term, and doesn't even use words associated with trash talk in sports. Who uses "spoiled" when talking smack about another team?

"Under Stanford Control" is a far, far, superior term, and as I have said before, they hate nothing more than being called "Southern Cal" (for obvious reasons), so why not use the term they themselves hate the most?

"Under Stanford Control" or "Southern Cal" should be the auto edit for U.S.C. Anyone else agree?

Apparently there are no current commercial uses of graphene. I am intrigued by this substance and wonder if we could do some brainstorming here on practical applications. The only potential application mentioned in the news story was adding it to plastic so that beer could be packaged in enhanced plastic bottles. I think we could do better than that.

There I was -- Tunnel 4, Row 55, Seat 15. We were already ahead 7-0, and Wisconsin was facing third down on their first possession. The sound level in our section was beginning to ramp up.

Then, from a few rows behind I hear someone bellow: "Come on people, this is H.UGE!!!" Naturally, having visited this Board more than a few times, I immediately cringed upon hearing the forbidden adjective. However, after watching our guys respond to our cheering by shutting down Wisconsin and forcing a punt, I turned around to see from whence the [SUCCESSFUL!] exhortation had come. Sure enough, smiling broadly [and brandishing what I believe may have been a Bud], there was ... Teejers!

If I understand it correctly, the H-word was banished as a result of the Texas game, which opened up the 1999 season [otherwise known as the last season to end up in the Rose Bowl before this year]. So, it seems a reasonable question to ask: Have the demons been exorcised?

[BTW, if you think I'm making this up, I can at least prove, thanks to that gigapan website, that Teejers was, in fact, sitting a few rows behind me, and a few seats to the left of terry, I believe.]

You got the 5 closest scores to the beautiful, remarkable, unforgettable Stanford 17-14 Oregon that we just witnessed.
Please, upvote the posts linked here to reward these visionaries!

ORIGINAL POST
============
I've seen similar things in other forums, and I thought we could do it here for this transcendental game (I was also curious to see what the expectations of other cardboarders are).

The idea is that everyone posts a score (ideally with a snippet of what you think the game will go), I order them by point difference in this post, and the 5 closest differentials (tiebreakers are actual score, and accuracy of the snippet) win. As a prize we can upvote the posts of the 5 winners.

My prediction is:
Stanford comes out focused and the D holds Oregon to 14 in the first half, while we score 17. In the second half we start wearing down, and after a few big plays and turnovers, Oregon wins 31-42

You got the 5 closest scores to the beautiful, remarkable, unforgettable Stanford 17-14 Oregon that we just witnessed.

ORIGINAL POST
============
