The blooms are now once again off the LA program roses.
UCLA is imploding, about to endure another Stanford beatdown after losing their 7th home game in last three years as a ranked team. USC is in shambles after losing back-to-back home games as double digit favorites. Hopefully Stanford leverages these dumpster fires with recruiting gains against these two outfits.

The only thing that makes me nervous about next week's game is that 7 game winning streak. I mean, even Navy is going to beat ND someday.

Shouldn't a 7 game streak breed confidence? I'm sure UCLA would much rather be on the other end of the streak going into Thursday.

The 7 game streak was hard-earned, and the team is looking fundamentally sound. Thus far, no need to be anxious. Lose once to Northwestern and perhaps work ethics can get recalibrated in a hurry.

Quote:Searl is now a redshirt sophomore, according to his player profile on the UCLA Bruins website.
I would guess they've been expecting this to break all season. I just wonder why it took this long (but I'm not suggesting that anything improper was done). UCLA played 6 games last year after the incident.
Those that suggest conspiracy theories will note the announcement came just before a bye-weekend, giving the team some time to deal with the press as they won't be on TV and won't be asked about it in pre- or post-game interviews.

I think for something as serious as a sexual assault the LAPD would not be holding back an arrest. The article did say there was a lengthy investigation. Sounds like they were deliberate in making sure they had a good case.

Dunno if they expected this to happen -- Searl was the starting punter against ASU, after not punting at all previously in the season.
