On a day when the offense was pretty putrid, the defense came up really big against a team that had been steamrolling opponents.
Some key stats:
We held them to 442 yards and 28 points, after they gained 631 yards and 45 points against Arizona last week, 520 yards and 52 points the week before against OSU, and 641 yards and 45 points the week before that against Oregon.
Falk was 35/63 for 354 yards on 5.9 yards per pass and two critical interceptions.
WSU made it to our red zone 6 times if my math is correct, and four times we held them to a field goal.
We sacked Falk three times, which was more than against any opponent.
Twice Meeks intercepted a ball in WSU territory; we scored 10 points off those turnovers, and needed every one of them to win the game.
It wasn't great defense, but if you had told me ahead of time that we would do that against WSU, I'd have predicted a blow-out.
