Shaw calls it a solid team win, but points out all the flaws as he is want to do.
Asked why Chryst didn't play. "No particular reason. We had a package of plays for Keller and we just didn't get to him. I feel bad about that, but that's just the way it happens sometimes."
About Burns, pointed out two throws he missed, but otherwise he played well. As for pre snap decisions, "he is doing very well....I wouldn't say exceptional right now, but for a guy playing his second game....a couple times we didn't quite get to the right play."
On quarterback scrambles, Shaw says going back to Rich Gannon and the Raiders he has had an unofficial rule that the quarterback has to scramble or run for 3-4 first downs a game.
On the Rector touchdown. "You run certain plays to set up other plays." They ran power power counter power power and waited for SC to chase from the back side, and when they saw from the box that the SC defense was chasing they prepped Rector for the reverse.
On the defense, "They (SC) did a good job establishing the run in the first half, we bounced back, they did it again in the third quarter, we bounced back again."Â
On the O line, he said we played much better than against KSU, but he'd probably give it a B.
"Our MO is set in stone. If we get a two score lead in the second half, we are going to run it....We try to end the game with the ball in our hands."
CMac came out for a few questions. Complimented the O-line, particularly its performance against the 9-10 stacked boxes. "H uge progression from week 1 to week 2."
