How telling is it that the coaching staff's solution to the backside edge rush was to have the QB chip block the defender after the pitch? Yeah, that doesn't work too often these days...and it puts your QB at risk. Never been a fan of that. I vastly prefer jet sweep to read the defense. We have some speed in Wedington/OSB, right?
I think Love is running "slower" because he's expected to read the gaps before making a move. I think if he were told to run through a certain gap, he would hit it with an assertive first step. As to the FB/OT/TE's collective ability to make the gap happen...I don't know what to say.
