Many left early too, even as early as half time. The few still there at the end did cheer hard for the last stringers to stop OSU from getting a consolation TD.

In the end, I found the cold to be a bigger distraction than the air, and it wasn’t even that cold.
The smoke was obviously very noticeable, but you get used to the smell, and it helps when you can’t quite see how disgusting it is in the dark.
We did notice, however, a sliver of a waxing crescent moon that was glowing bright orange at 6pm as we entered stadium. It reminded me of the thousands of homes destroyed.

In case anyone wants to keep an eye on air quality for future events, I just discovered that air quality monitors on campus can be monitored in real time using the Purple Air Map at:

One of the monitors is at the soccer stadium. To get numbers comparable to the EPA site, you need to apply one of the conversion algorithms in the layer selection box in the lower left corner. If you don't apply any conversion, the numbers will be much higher than the EPA numbers. Which of the two conversion you choose doesn't seem to make a big difference.
