Across both the women’s and men’s tournaments, three #2 seeds advanced by beating a #1 seed (nice to see Duke go down!). The one #2 seed that didn’t advance was beaten by a lower seed.

Baylor: 4/71 = 5.6%
Notre Dame: 10/69 = 14.5%
Iowa = 18/57 = 31.6%
UConn = 15/58 = 25.9%
Mississippi State = 11/54 = 20.4%
Louisville = 17/57 = 29.8%
Oregon = 20/58 = 34.5%
Meanwhile, 42.6% of our shot attempts were 3-pointers today and that makes us too vulnerable to being dependent on hot shooting nights. Luckily our defense carried the day, but with Notre Dame's explosive offense, that won't be enough on Monday

Quote:Over the course of the full season, 41.3% of Stanford's shot attempts were three-point attempts (898 of 2176). That is very consistent with the percentage against Missouri State (42.6%). So Stanford was doing what it's been doing all season long -- shooting lots of threes. Many of those shots were open. They just weren't falling. I would expect better three-point shooting against Notre Dame.

... And it helps when we aren't hitting treys anyway. But man does Dodson need to finish through on her layups.

Tara didn't have any patience with Dodson tonight - 0- 4 on layups

I am at work so don't have replay so I couldn't go back and look at it. BUT, the refs have swallowed their whistles, and seem asleep at their posts (obvious kicked ball!), so I'm not worried about the number of fouls. I'd rather have 0 on her, but still unlikely to impact too much. She just needs to be careful in the first 5 minutes of the 3Q.(04-01-2019, 06:38 PM)Griffins78 Wrote: Damn / second on Dijonai

Missing some bunnies, and Dodson is such a liability on offense, but I'm pleased that no matter what happens, we took it to them for a half. Tara and her staff continue to wow me when I think I can't be any more in awe of her than I already am.

What a downer attitude! Yes, I expect ND will put on a run. Stanford will respond. I'm think of good possibilities and some sun for the team and probably some fans next weekend. Announcer: "Will Stanford have enough in the tank?" Why don't they say that about ND??
