If anyone watched the ND vs Georgia game on Saturday, you will have seen ND using fake injuries to slow down the Georgia offense.  In one instance, the ND player was walking normally after a play and his teammate ran over to him and pulled him to the ground.  I formally propose that we change our nickname for ND from University of Dead Fake Girlfriends to University of Fake Football Injuries (UFFI).  There is a funny skit about this posted by SEC Shorts:

Meh.  I could have written that skit better, but what do I really expect from $EC fan fic?

One could say that UDFG was just practicing Luke 17:19 -- "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

Is there still that rule where "injured" players have to exit the game for at least [n] plays?

Yes, a player has to sit for the next play.  And if the opponent plays tempo, they could keep the defense from substituting after that.
