They may be in the Big East, but these cancellations just made the game against South Carolina and Baylor significantly more important for building a tournament resume.

Say, if UConn is a 6 seed instead of a 1, their road becomes that much harder to the Final Four. An off day against a three seed could doom them, before having to trudge through a 2 seed, and a 1 seed just to get to the Final Four. They’re certainly capable, just becomes a tougher road.

why on earth would you schedule a game for 2pm on a monday that's not a holiday - unless the tv gods force the odd slot? am i missing something? i can't remember that happening before.

I believe that UConn will have a tournament resume if they don't play a game until mid-March. Indeed, if there is some rule that would prohibit them from playing, I'm sure it will be changed. If they can play 5 players, they'll be in the tournament. I think they've earned it.

Probably because the San Diego students will only miss one school day (Monday) since they can travel home after the game. Possible they simply couldn't get the team up to Palo Alto by Saturday to play on Sunday as scheduled vs. Pacific.
My view is we're lucky to have games at all given these conditions, so I'll take it and be grateful.

well, sure, but i have to work monday at 2; and there's no way to tape the game. conceivable that at least a few other fans work as well.
