It's cool Eric Sanders spent time with Gregg Williams. Of course, Lance Anderson is still in charge of the defense, so hard to imagine how much that exposure will help Stanford. That said, I have never been a Pete Hansen fan and am optimistic the ILBs will now be developed better.

Hansen leaving for a DC job was a win-win for both him and Stanford.
If Sanders recruits with an aggressiveness even in the same stratosphere as other recent assistant hires Carberry and Kennedy, it's already a massive upgrade without even getting into the development side.

From reading that article, it appears that he didn't play football in college (UC Davis). He does have good experience coaching football at the NFL level, so he should be an asset.

I don't know whether Hansen is a good coach. But I just want to note that Hansen coached Blake Martinez for two years, which were the only years Martinez was a starter, and also coached Bobby Okereke, who started 8 games for the Colts last season as a rookie.

I "just want to note" that Hansen didn't recruit Martinez. And that Bobby Okereke, indeed a stud, was in a 6-man rotation sharing equal snaps with Jordan Perez for an entire season. AND that in the past 5 seasons, Stanford did not sign a scholarship ILB in THREE of them.
