I have heard that we can help the virus research effort by allowing our computers to be used by researchers trying to move much more quickly than is typical for drug development. 

Specifically it has been recommended to download software from www.foldingathome.org to allow your computer to be so used.

The specific project that I have heard about is a collaboration between Oxford (UK)/Weizmann(Israel) and an SF based company (Post Era), although its not limited to that.

I have heard that the project has already gained access to a million computers giving it computing power larger than a super computer. 

My question...for people who are more knowledgeable than me....does this make sense and is there any reason we shouldnt be doing something like this?
