I know of an individual in an area that is reportedly going to have some tests run next week. He had a bad flu (apparently flu, as he didn't get tested) earlier, not long after someone else at his company had what reputedly was COVID-19. He'd be interested in finding out.
The Stanford Daily mentioned Facebook ads for the Santa Clara County test, but the researchers didn't realize how explosive the response would be.
I was tested last week (no results have been communicated to me). My fiance is a nurse and heard about it on facebook from coworkers. There was an online survey form you filled out with some basic information, including your zip code. Depending on the zip you entered, it might tell you that there were no spots available, so I assume they did try to get some geographic distribution. I saw today that they are going to start using the same test on healthcare workers at Stanford, but have not heard whether they will be doing more general population tests.
