I don't think anyone on this board would confuse me for someone who has anything nice to say about the current POTUS. 

That being said, that tweet is more than a little bit what I hate about the "gotcha" culture we can't get enough of in our sad and pathetic society.  The original tweet from the woman saying she wouldn't wear a mask, was made on May 9.  The one saying she wants the same mask being worn by the POTUS was on July 11. How do we know this person hasn't already started wearing a mask? How do we know she didn't start taking the virus more seriously over the last two months? That's a long time to evolve your position, particularly if the virus has become a bigger deal where you live.

Unless the person being ridiculed steadfastly refused to wear a mask through July 10, and then only said she would wear one on July 11 - after seeing a pic of POTUS wearing a mask - there is no real story there, other than someone trolling for their gotcha moment of the day.

I'm not a Stanford Graduate. B.S. Sonoma State. M.A. University of San Francisco (after starting at University of Memphis). I hardly lifted a school book in high school and barely graduated as a result. Spent 4 years at JC educating myself. 

That said, a month ago I was talking with a friend and fellow entrepreneur. I made a comment about Stanford doing something impressive, and he said "a Stanford guy promoting Stanford, I'm shocked." So I replied telling him I didn't go to Stanford.  He replied back saying, "oh, I thought you did." I asked him why, and he said "because you are so smart." I laughed my ass off...  Either elite private schools have convinced the masses only smart people come from them, or being on the Cardboard around so many smart people has rubbed off on me. :)

In any case, I do believe we live in a sad and pathetic society. It's build on lies, deceit, and selfishness. It didn't and doesn't have to be this way. If you want to debate me on this, let's have at it over private messaging.  I promise to bring many, many receipts.

It's not so much the "gotcha" aspect of it, but more the "what could have been".  The quickness with which his supporters have changed their mindset goes to show the low cost Trump would have incurred among his base had he pushed towards mask-wearing earlier.  Had the response been "look how much of a wuss Trump is by wearing a mask", you might evaluate the situation differently and recognize that Trump was somewhat boxed in by his base.  Alas, his base doesn't actually care about the issue; they are happy to support him whatever he does.  He could have done this much sooner and not suffered from it.  But late is better than never.

I don't know, BC, I think Trump's complete and total reversal, disavowal of what he had been saying, and admission of being wrong all this time will have no effect. You see, many people -- even though they want to wear masks -- struggle terribly. Despite your "scientific qualifications," your fancy medical training probably didn't teach you that many people in the US have unique medical conditions that also exist only in Brazil and Russia that make them unable to wear masks. Also, many Americans suffer from maskne. Remember acne? It is 10,000 x worse. Also, what you don't realize, BC, is that Americans are more free thinking and independent than all the other countries in the world, and America is the only nation in the world that has a unique, distinctive culture, so I just don't think all Americans can wear masks. It's just not something that can work here. Maybe in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Iceland,  and Canada, but not here.

Glad to see the change. Maybe someday I won't have to read in the newspaper every day about a record number of deaths in America, and maybe someday my kids will be able to go to school and see their classmates.
