UWisconsin did a study on youth soccer and the transmission of covid.  The study covered 90,000 players in varying levels of play/contact.  The calculated transmission rate was lower than the nationwide average (though I wonder if they weighted the "nationwide" average by local play areas).  They found 282 cases among players and only 1 was traced to a soccer based transmission.

I haven't looked at the details of the study but hope there are additional good nuggets to be gained from it.
