It makes one suspect that they got tired of trying to explain the discrepancies in the data. Note that there is no reason to believe the discrepancies no longer exist, but rather now we can't see them. Real confidence builder, that.
The county case data, at least through 12/8, is still at https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/#county-status
At https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-...u-capacity , it claims to show ICU data, but I don't see it.
but it does point to https://covid19.ca.gov/state-dashboard/ which does have it.
Raw hospital data is at https://data.ca.gov/dataset/covid-19-hospital-data
Thanks M T, the link I had been using was
https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-...home-order
which used to show data by county but has been changed and no longer does.
https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-...u-capacity is apparently identical to the #stay-home-order.
The ICU percentage availability data by county has been removed from
https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/#county-status as of 12/10. If you click on a county and look at County Metrics, it used to be there. It no longer is.
https://covid19.ca.gov/state-dashboard/ Has the number of available ICU beds in the county, which is useful, but it doesn't give a percentage or a total number of ICU beds.
https://data.ca.gov/dataset/covid-19-hospital-data unfortunately is a bit hard to use, but you can get the number of COVID-19 ICU patients and the number of free ICU beds. This is the only place you can get the data to compute the percentage AFAIK, and you have to do it yourself.
It is unclear to me what possible good reason could explain removing the percentage ICU available by county from the more easily accessible places. The work spent removing it, while small, would be better spent doing other things. Why remove something you already have, unless you don't want people to easily know it?
