Also, we are expecting an 8 - 10% decline in births next year.  That could be 500,000 fewer kids being born next year in the US due to the effect of the pandemic and unemployment.

The story seems to concentrate on young childless couples. Not sure if that was intentional or just a matter of being more photogenic. To the extent it's causing divorce before children, it could be seen as an up side. Children stress a marriage in normal times. If the couple can't work through intense times, better to get it over with before there are children to mess up.
