While many of us have been maxing out the building systems at home, a lot of buildings have been either shut down or very minimally occupied for a very long time because of the pandemic. The CDC has has a page with Guidance for Reopening Buildings After Prolonged Shutdown or Reduced Operation. This page was significantly updated in September. This page covers risks associated with building water systems, including lead and copper contamination, legionella and mold. Although none of this is really new information, it may be a good idea to review it so that it doesn't get ignored while trying to figure out how to store the large stash of hand sanitizer without violating the fire code and just how to keep the place clean. I wouldn't consume the building water for a while unless it's been properly filtered.
