I got the link today for the Stanford Football Season Ticket Seat Selection Tool.
My date/time to switch, based on my "level of engagement" is 6/14. Am I still basically last? I think most season ticket holders have decades of priority but I wonder if I've inched up a little bit since 2016.
My biggest takeaway, and not a big surprise to me, is that many seats in desirable areas are taken and a lot of people renewed.
If you were to read the comments here on the Cardboard, like every year something has outraged people so grievously (sound system too loud, kickoff time too late, sun is too sunny...) that they have cancelled their lifelong season tickets and will never return.
But, the data indicates otherwise. Most people are returning. Sometimes in odd years no one drops off, so in that respect any dropoff is a little disappointing, but I thought it was pretty good, considering.
Now will people who pay for tickets actually show up? Who knows.
But my guess would be people are really looking forward to a return to in-person events, and that attendance this year should be, if anything, an increase over 2019.
