According to Scott Reiss, Owusu does not have a concussion and will be at full speed in practice tomorrow. Apparently he was limited today.

I don't know why everyone assumed he had a concussion. He took a hard hit to his helmet, but he was ready for it, and it was not helmet-to-helmet. I wouldn't have been surprised to learn he was concussed, but I'm not surprised to hear he is fine.

He has suffered some serious brain damage this season. Hasn't he been concussed twice already this season?

No concussion from the McDonald hit but "a mild shoulder sprain."

Not 100 percent sure I believe it, but Owusu is clearly a long way from giving up the game. The article notes that the hit in the WSU game was the hardest ever in a study on the force delivered to the head of Stanford players (Owusu wears a mouthpiece with sensors in it).

Speed is dangerous!
I would suspect that since the Stanford study is utilizing the Stanford team, the biggest impacts are going to be with the fastest players. And that would be Owusu.Â
Owusu running fast in one direction with a large quick safety closing quickly from the other direction probably will produce impacts more dramatic than any other Stanford player will see.

Delano Howell and Michael Thomas would be my other picks for hardest hitters/hits taken. Griff Whalen took a couple of hard shots last Sat. but hung on to the ball for first downs.
