I’m mildly interested in what Frost will do next, or rather what the coaching “fraternity” will do with him. I can’t imagine any P5 school’s fan base reacting well if Frost is named an offensive coordinator, for example.

Will he follow the Helton route and try coaching a team outside the Power 5?

The Power 5 will soon be an anachronistic term.  If Stanford stays in the "Pac-12," or whatever remnants exist after the current re-alignment, then Stanford won't be in a "Power" conference and presumbly won't have a "power" football program.  In that circumstance, I assume Shaw would look for a better perch and the position might open up to someone like Frost.  And, speaking of coming full circle, Stanford would be Nebraska.
