Chip Kelly has just hired Kodi Whitfield to be the UCLA CB coach. Whitfield's most recent job was safeties coach for Troy Taylor at Sac State last season.

Strange he wouldn't have followed Taylor back to his alma mater.  Maybe he was not invited?

Taylor brought 2 other (offensive) assistants and the head of S&C with him. He could've brought Whitfield, and didn't.

The defensive staff is entirely veterans. CB coach Paul Williams has been a DB/CB assistant coach at the FBS level for 17 years. Most recently at Wake Forest he was doing a very good job "coaching up" terrible recruits, which impressed me and hopefully bodes well for what he can do with better-than-terrible recruits.
