Conference is maybe more balanced than ever. CO is a surprise near the top. Oregon is a surprise in the middle. Thought they would be a bit better. UA already having three losses is a surprise. But they are another team that played the transfer game and maybe that does't always work so well.

And what is also true is that a couple of the teams with losing records--Washington and Cal--are vastly improved from a year ago and are "in" every game. Any top tier team could slip against either of those two. Only ASU is truly non-threatening this year.

Oregon State (Stanford's opponent on Friday) is dangerous too. I watched their game against Oregon. OSU has some good players. They already beat UCLA earlier in the season. And Timea Gardiner is working her way into the lineup after missing much of the season because of an undisclosed medical condition. At 6'3" and skilled, she is a tough match up who had 15 points vs. Oregon.

And congratulations to her. I posted this earlier in the Stanford/Colorado thread -- not sure where to put it. Maybe we need a Stanford WBB 2022-23 thread that is not game specific??? Lots of posts that have been in a variety of places could have gone there more appropriately
Haley is also Pac-12 player of the week -- so both ESPN national POW and Pac-12. I think the last time we had that was last year with Cam.
