they changed the categories of revenue and expenses but the highlights
on the revenue side they show "University support" as 33% of revenue so I'm assuming that's 33% of $143.7m or ~$47m. In the 2022-23 report revenue was $136.9m and University support (in two buckets so maybe not the same as this year) was $22.6m.
It is unclear if the University or maybe the AD endowment covered the $21m excess of expenses over revenue last year.

they changed the categories of revenue and expenses but the highlights
Quote:In FY24, the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER) had $143.7M in operating revenues and expenses related to Varsity Athletics. In addition, the department’s restricted, athletics scholarship endowments contributed $32.5M to cover the costs of Stanford student athletes’ tuition, room and board. As displayed in the exhibit above, 38 percent of Varsity Athletics-related revenues in FY24 came from philanthropic gifts. Consistent support from annual donors remains critical for our long-term success and growth, particularly as the costs our programs face to compete nationally at the highest level continue to rise.
