Let me clarify this again, we’re looking for the team with the longest odds to win the Super Bowl at the start of the season. The Seahawks started the season with 60:1 odds, while the Patriots had 80:1 odds. If the Patriots win, they’ll become the team with the second longest odds at the start of the season (since 1978) to win the Super Bowl; if the Seahawks win, they will be tied for second with the 2002 New England Patriots.
But the team with the longest odds to win the Super Bowl to have won it started their season at 150:1. Who was it?

I don't know the answer, but I would suggest Vermeil's 1999 LA Rams Super Bowl team. They won between three and seven games for nine years after losing the conference finals in 1989 to the 49ers, 30-3. Their trend was negative, going 6-10 in 1996, 5-11 in 1997, and 4-12 in 1998.
In '98, Tony Banks was their QB, Steve Bono was the backup. Both were terrible, ratings of less than 70. Kurt Warner was third string and was 4 for 11. June Henley was their leading rusher, 313 yards. Amp Lee and Ricky Proehl were their WRs, 667 and 771 yards respectively. They picked Torry Holt in the 1999 draft, Isaac Bruce got healthy, traded for Marshall Faulk (2nd and 5th round picks), and Kurt Warner started. Warner led the NFL in passing percentage, TDs, yards/attempt, passer rating and was the MVP. Faulk rushed for 1,381 yards, caught for 1,08 more yards, Bruce and Holt had 1,165 yards and 788 yards respectively.

Mick has the right answer. The Greatest Show on Turf 1999/2000 Rams (though I believe they were in St. Louis at the time) with Kurt Warner at QB won the Super Bowl despite starting the season with 150:1 odds.

The soldier next to me was killed on four separate occasions in WWII. When I returned from the war, I had to give up my plane seat to higher ranking military personnel scheduled to fly from New Jersey to my home in LA...and that plane crashed, killing everybody on board.
In 1946, I played for the Class B Spokane Indians of the Western International League. During a meal, I was contacted by the big club and promoted to the AAA San Diego Padres. The order was to leave immediately, so I did. In the ensuing departure, there was a horrific bus crash and most of my teammates died, the remainder were badly injured.
I reached the majors with the Giants in 1947, same year as Jackie Robinson. I hit 11 HRs my rookie season, and one of them broke the major league team home run record set by the Yankees. When Durocher took over as manager, he wanted his own players, so he sent me down to AAA but I played so well, he brought me back up. Durocher had hoped to trade me and Bobby Thomson for Andy Pafko earlier in the season. In the famous "Shot Heard Round the World" game, I was warming up to come play the infield if the game went to extra innings because Don Mueller broke his ankle, but Thomson hit the home run over Andy Pafko in left field, and the Giants won the pennant! as Russ Hodges would say. I played for the Phillies for the next two years, then the last five years of my career in the Pacific Coast League.
My son John is the General Manager of a 6x league champion minor league baseball team in Alaska, having graduated from Santa Clara in 1979.
Post baseball, I was the head of security for Lockheed. Despite all the risks in my early life, I lived to age 85.
