What do they say about a young OL? Oooof, but ever hopeful.

Very True - center manned by two Frosh? Maybe it will work. There is more to the picture than just the guys in it.

The 5th year senior C we imported from Sac State got hurt for the year.

Assuming Hall, Pantelis, Mejia and Leyrer all injured? Do we know for how long?
Also, could the defense be much improved? There's a real two-deep across the board for the first time in who knows how long.

I remain wildly and irrationally optimistic. With EUTM. Against any better reason.

Hoping to see Benedict Umeh make some noise this season on the DL even though he is not listed on the 2 deep yet. He's a great story, after recovering from cancer.

Rooting very hard for him, not just because of what of he has had to overcome, but because he comes across as a great kid, too!

DEFENSE will be better... we were last in ACC in 2024.
* Tafiiti is a Punahoa grad; he will go wild in this game, moving from LB to Edge. Home game for him.
* I like the Secondary -- a lot. Decent CBs, and Leigber, Edwards + Jay Green (nickel) should get pics -- Seniors.
Hawaii throws the ball 50 times. Blitz and get hurries. Sack Alejado, who is not that tall (5'10"), but releases quick.
* The LBs? Who knows.
OFFENSE: Let's see how Gulbranson brings game experience. Elijah likely gets some snaps.
"Completed 61.8% of his passes for 2,648 yards and 15 touchdowns, while adding in six rushing touchdowns."
Gulbranson has 4-5 targets to throw to, and Farrell brings some speed, like Rector in 2015, to open it up.
I predict that CJ Williams books >100 yards at WR. And Roush gets 5+ catches. I expect Reich to use the TEs.
Opening for the O-Line against Hawaii with a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 should be better than opening in the ACC.
Our RB by Committee might actually work. Micah Ford ran for over 120 yards on CLEM last year; give him the rock.
I think we run first, and then look to throw. Reich will want to revert to classic Run Control offense against the Rainbows.
