- The Cardinal MF clearly dominated, but it wasn’t always clear how on TV. The camera is just too tight a lot of the time.
- I am not sure that Kohler was ever really playing DM. It briefly looked like it to start half 2, but if so it didn’t last very long. I would guess it was just some position rotation for coverage. But by say minute 38, SLS is clearly at DM.
- that said UCLA kept finding space for balls straight up the middle on the ground at the end of half 1; so maybe Kohler at DM was the solution to briefly plug the hole.
- Winn was a constant menace and Kohler was her normal excellent self.
- nice game for Stewart - mostly quiet but she handled the emergencies well.
- Bray got a bunch of minutes mostly at RM and then at RB too after getting very few minutes earlier and looked decent overall. Mostly at the expense of Noe.
- Williams was up and down in her first start. A couple of dangerous turnovers and a few other ball handling issues on the bad side of the ledger. But her defense was good and she moved the attack forward a number of times.
- Holden does have a knack at burrowing and barging through defensive traffic.
- Thomas was in good places this game, but did nothing with it including one awful miss. For now I will look at that as a step in the right direction.
- the third goal was a really nice team movement.
