Pretty funn, but that's tiptoeing the line towards a PR embarrassment. Assuming he was duped, it's a bit cold to mock him so quickly. It's probably not offensive enough to get picked up by the mainstream media, but I imagine ND fans will take note and try to turn it into something.

Even if Te'o was, in fact, duped/innocent -- and that would have to mean that a lot of the earlier reporting was wrong and neither Te'o nor the N.D. SID made any effort to correct it then -- the comments by the N.D. AD today indicate that Te'o knew there was a problem as early as December 6, yet waited until December 26 to mention it to his coaches, and, after that, the N.D. AD and/or SID apparently made no effort to keep ESPN et al from continuing to tell the story up to the time of the NCG. I think the AD/SID can be faulted -- or made fun of -- even if it turns out to be unfair to do so with respect to Te'o.
And, of course, aside from all that...Taylor really DID cross the goal line.

The original tweet was deleted...and as far as mockery of the situation goes, I think this should stay in the personal realm away from the press if Te'o was indeed duped. Better people have been fooled by enterprising pranksters, and worse things have resulted (see nurse's suicide following Aussie radio DJ's impersonation of the Queen Mother).
But this tweet doesn't get personal, and it's totally legit.
