Is there a Stanford section?  If so, how do we purchase and when are they available?

Tickets are available at Army Football Web site for $39 each plus another $15 for parking.  Also Stubhub has over 1000 tickets available at prices between $39 and $284.

Stanford affiliates can buy tickets here using the code ARMYSAA. http://bit.ly/YUTFZj

We plan to make the trip down from Boston.

Shinsengumi, thank you for the link.  It works, but they don't identify the location of the seats.

I then called the Stanford ticket office and learned that they will take orders now for $39 tickets with seats to be assigned later.

After consulting with my better half, we opted for Stubhub and found two seats on the Stanford sideline in Section 29.  It's a section for Army supporters, so it should be a unique fan experience.  We're counting on not being the only dots of Cardinal red in a sea of gray and black.

Geaux Cardinal!

Damn. I didn't even think of Stubhub. I purchased 3 tix through Stanford. Hopefully sitting in the Stanford section will be worth it. If not, I'll have learned my lesson.

"Hopefully sitting in the Stanford section will be worth it."

I'm pretty sure it beats standing up the whole game along side a bunch of delirious cadets!

Just received my West Point parking pass.  45 days until kickoff!

While browsing the Army site I found the following thread entitled "Stanford game might be a nightmare...":

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=239&f=2423&t=11736591

The poster had just seen tape of Stanford's D against Oregon last year.  This might be a game where many get some playing time.

From a second post, real respect for the Cardinal:

"Stanford has done a great job with some great kids.  Unlike many places they have found a way to win with smart kids from all over the country that have some legitimate majors and most importantly with a pretty much smash mouth football mentality.  There are tremendous commonalities b/w us and Stanford.  In fact without the military aspect then we are pretty close in lots of ways."

Glad we're picking up this thread again.

My wife and I are going to NY for our anniversary so Theatre that weekend (bought our tickets before the Friday night reception was announced) and West Point on Sat.

Will be traveling from Manhattan and as of now plan to take the train and taxi early to walk the grounds and see some of the hoopla and then bus back. Open to better ideas for making the trek. Hope the Alumni group charters buses.

Then planning to go to Long Island for the week after the game. Maybe Montauk, East Hamptons, Shelter Island. Would love any ideas or recommendations. First time.

Just received the following notification from Army ticket office:

"Army vs. Stanford, Nearly Sold Out - 1,500 Tickets Left"

From the message board, their fans are excited about hosting us though not optimistic about the outcome.

37 days until kickoff!
