Fingers crossed that the right Stanford team shows up Friday night.  Historical tendency (for decades) to ease up after a big, emotional win.  Regardless of which QB's will play vs OSU. if the team we saw Saturday in L.A. is the team on the field, we win handily.  Go Stanford!  Go Friday Night Lights!

The double trouble is that Oregon State came out fired up for Michigan.  It was a big game for them, the same, I suspect, for Stanford.  If they're up and we're down, it could be a tough day.

Danger - massive letdown possibly coming.  Still, Stanford finds a way to pull through and avoid giving themselves the shaft, even though it will be hard.

Does the word "always" in the first line of my post just above here show up for other people? On my screen there's just a little blank spot there, as if Winston Smith had snatched the word and tossed it down the memory hole.

I see it, in italics, running (using the word very lightly) iOS 9.0 on antique iPad.

Don't do predictions; however, if in Vegas, I'd take the Beavers and the under (though I don't even know what the latest o/u is).

Seems no one is publishing an over/under on the game.

I'll admit it, I'm really nervous about this game, particularly due to the uncertainty of Hogan and the possibility of letdown, on the road, after a big game.  Still...

Hogan starts w/ intermittent Burns packages for option & bootleg plays. The defense initially has trouble stopping the OSU QB/RB tandem; Stanford is up 17-14 at the half. Trees extend the lead in the second half w/ a Hogan-led touchdown. Chryst comes in late in the 3rd quarter and finishes the game, adding a score. Defense adjusts, shutting the Beavers out in the 2nd and 3rd quarters but allowing a garbage time TD.

Final score:
El Palo Altos 31 Failed to gnaw through El Palo Altos 21

I just heard Childers and Neuheisel on their new radio show "Full Ride" talking about USC's loss to Stanford.  They said that if $C loses to ASU, Sark might go the way of Kiffin on the tarmac.  Neuheisel bagged on Stanford and kept refering to how we got our butt kicked by NW.  He gave Stanford no credit for beating the Toejams and lauded Kessler's performance.  Nothing about Hogan's performance.  He even said that we might get beat by OSU this Friday.  No respect.
