I didn't like seeing Lacie and Cam arguing as they headed for the locker room at the break.
We are dominating WSU, but it is a low scoring game. 28-17. Kind of a weird game so far.

Ugly second quarter of basketball. Our inability to get the ball inside to Brink resulted in a long long scoring drought. They can't stop her but we aren't taking advantage of that matchup enough. Everyone else has been pretty mehhh so far. We need to play faster. 2 points in transition so far. Can do better.

That was a 10-7 quarter. We should up the pace.

It helps that WSU is 2/12 from three. If they get hot in the second half, we could be in trouble unless we up our own scoring.
Brink is 1 rebound from a double double.
OTOH, 10 turnovers. Yuck.

What a terrible call on JVG. Not only was it an offensive foul, but they gave them the bucket even though she wasn't shooting when she fouled JVG.

JVG has been way off on some of her treys (and also made a few key baskets) but she was absolutely mugged (hook move) on the play where she was called for the foul.

Cam's offensive foul should have been a blocking foul on the defender who stepped into her path. Falling down and crying doesn't make it a foul on the other player.

3 ptrs aren't falling , 4 of 18. Jump hit 1 but has been way off on others

Boy is Jump cold from 3. She's had some wide open looks that she normally knocks down. We can't seem to get separation from the Cougs. However, holding them to 42 points with 4 minutes to play is pretty strong.
Jump finally nails her second 3 and they waive it off.
And then Jumps nails her second 3 on a great assist.

Two days after 2/22/22, we had two women score double-doubles.
Too good.

WSU started heating up from 3 in the 4th, hitting 4 of 9. But it was too little too late as we win 61-54. We held WSU to 32% -- 30% shooting. We shot 43% -- 26%. We were 6 of 7 from the charity stripe. Seventeen turnovers is concerning. Many of these were on trying to force passes into well defended players. We need to nip that in the bud.

Ugly, but it's a W. WSU proved it's dangerous.

A nice note in the postgame interview was Cam talking about how much Alyssa has taught her over the past couple of years.

I wonder if Alyssa has coaching aspirations? The way she carries herself and talks to her teammates, plus how Tara and the team speak of her...maybe?

We had 17 turnovers tonight and WSU outscored us 22-17 in Q4. If we play like that against South Carolina -- assuming we
reach a rematch with the Gamecocks -- they could well beat us, possibly easily.
