Huske (and W soccer Aikey) won the Al Masters award at yesterday's SAB ceremony. The top award for an LSJU student athlete.
She's graduating this weekend but apparently will be staying at LSJU and training with the team at Avery, for LA28. (not moving to Florida or anything like that!)

BTW, some more firsts for Katie Ledecky.
She was award an honorary doctorate by Yale.
"The 29-year-old is believed to be the first female professional athlete and perhaps the youngest individual to be awarded an honorary doctorate by the school since the tradition began in 1702."

A good Friday night for former and current LSJU swimmers at the Pan Pacific meet in Irvine.
Torri Huske, who has not had her best meet, finished off the podium in the 100 butterfly but swam the third leg of the American record 4 x 100 freestyle relay, anchored by the ageless wonder, LJSU 2016 Rio gold medalist Simone Manuel!
Another legend still going strong, Ledecky got silver in the 400 freestyle, not her best event and yet still world class.
Taylor Ruck got the silver in the aforementioned W 100 fly for Canada and is having maybe her best international meet ever, with at least 4 medals. And current LSJU rising soph Ethan Ekk won bronze for Canada in the 200 back. His versatility is impressive - he swam everything from sprints to distance free during the college season. I think rising LSJU senior Henry McFadden swam the prelims for the 4 x 200 free relay, where the US won gold in the final.

The legend Ledecky lost the 800m freestyle tonight to Palister of Australia. First time Ledecky has ever lost that event at a major meet, going back to 2011.
Neither Huske nor Manuel were on the victorious USA W 4x100 medley relay. Ruck anchored Canada to 4th place.
