Tonight not a total loss...I'm baking a rum cake that will be ready to eat at about 10:30.

RE: $C Game thread - lex24 - 09-09-2023

In all seriousness what the heck do you say at halftime if you’re Troy Taylor. I guess all you can say is keep playing.

Right about now I think he’s wondering why he wanted this job.

I sure can't.

Two years ago. Utah was ahead 38-0 at the half. Final score, 52-7 Utah.

Yeah, but it is 49-3 now. Mercifully the first half ends.

Well, what about the rest of us? I guess we can just chug the rum or anything else we can find

After there are only 5 more games against ranked teams.

what would the score be if Shaw were still coaching?

What’s the point of the question. Fortunately, he is not. Don’t get me wrong, I feel for Taylor. He has a Herculean task ahead of him.

The positive... We made them punt once.

The negative: [infinity symbol]

RE: $C Game thread - dabigv13 - 09-09-2023

Dissapointing there's no LSJUMB here. Before school start? On probation?

Oh well, we get a drone show instead.

RE: $C Game thread - chrisk - 09-09-2023

USC is in position to go for 100.
7 more TDs plus a couple 2-pointers.

Like I said, in Walt Harris' worst season, Stanford never gave up 49 points in an entire game.

I can't find the box score for the 72-0 drubbing that UCLA laid on Stanford, technically Stanford's worst loss in history. Stanford QBs threw eight interceptions that day, five by Brodie...and Stanford was 3-1 going into that UCLA game.

I think that can’t be answered unless you could know how many of our veteran players would have stayed & not bolted

RE: $C Game thread - chrisk - 09-09-2023

Even Walsh lost 49-0 at USC in his first year at Stanford. If Stanford can hold USC scoreless in the 2nd half,
Taylor will have something on Walsh.

No doubt about Taylor. H-uge task, especially getting the team ready to play next week. Going to be tough to get them to believe.

You say, focus on skill level each play... get ready for SACSt

RE: $C Game thread - Row80Critic - 09-09-2023

I've seen Stanford play worse, and will less effort, but the combination of Stanford's badness and U$C's lack of badness is making for an unfortunately historic night.  Sigh...

RE: $C Game thread - ADPinWDC - 09-09-2023

RILEY with #6 USC knows Bama LOST to Texas.  So he wants to run it up to make it to #4 FOR THE PLAYOFFS
We are just Roadkill en route.

This is a joke of epic proportions. Is USC that good or, more likely, is the Cardinal that bad?!!

I don't care for either Clardy or Platz. Both are extremely boring and utterly lacxking in insight.

Clardy is far too much of a Mr. Goody Two Shoes Announcer for me. He's Mr. Happy Talk, no matter what fiasco is unfolding.
Platz shows zero personality, at best. The two of them have negative chenistry together. It's painful to listen to them.

Bill King would have had difficulty making this game sounded interesting.

But Bill would have made some clever or funny comments to make it bearable. Don't hold your breath waiting for either
Platz or Clardy to say something clever or witty.
