Which raises this question: "What exactly does it mean for a player to 'commit' to playing for a school in 2025?"

He decommitted less than two months after signing with Stanford! Pathetic.

RE: Class of 2025+ - bl82 - 08-04-2025

I think 'commit' is now 'declare preliminary intention'...

Or, I wonder if the strategy is to commit in order to better negotiate for more NIL money.  If so, this is pretty unscrupulous.

Wow - Texas tech and the NIL bandwagon rides again.   Maybe the Clearinghouse actually comes into play here?   I thought NIL deals going forward needed to be certified, unless this is all coming from their $20.5 allocation.  Not sure what date NIL is subject to the Clearinghouse.   Sorry to see this happening.

Yeah, they're taking their Red Raider nickname a little too literally....

RE: Class of 2025+ - PVTree - 08-12-2025

They poach a few more athletes and Stanford will be able to start charging TT for being their developmental farm team. >8^[

RE: Class of 2025+ - BACardinal - 09-09-2025

Brandon McCoy Jr has Stanford in top 10. He's a 6'4 guard

UCLA
ALABAMA
ARIZONA
ASU
ARKANSAS
USC
CAL
DUKE
SDSU
STANFORD

RE: Class of 2025+ - BACardinal - 09-20-2025

6'7 Aziz Olajuwon has committed to Stanford for 2026. He chose Stanford over Houston, Vanderbilt, and Cincinnati.

Second commit for 2026 along with 6'2 Isaiah Rogers

I mean, he clearly didn’t get his dad’s height; he’s “only” 6’7”.

RE: Class of 2025+ - Griffins78 - 09-21-2025

From Athletic article, “Aziz Olajuwon, son of NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem, commits to Stanford. What does he bring?

Quote:Could Olajuwon impact Maxime Meyer’s decision? Olajuwon announced last month that he will spend his senior season at IMG Academy, where he’ll share the floor with Maxime Meyer, a 7-foot-1 center Stanford is recruiting heavily. Meyer recently trimmed his l ist to six schools — SMU, Vanderbilt, Saint Mary’s, Stanford, Ohio State and Michigan State — after a standout summer on the 3SSB Circuit where he averaged 9.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game.

RE: Class of 2025+ - CompSci87 - 09-21-2025

I spent some time yesterday updating the summary in the first post of this thread with info people had posted on the thread (and I also looked at the current roster).

But is this worthwhile? Since no one seems interested in keeping a summary updated here, and there may be more complete info available elsewhere (is there?), maybe there is no point in trying to have a summary here and this can just be a recruiting discussion thread.

Opinions?

I wonder how many 7-foot-1 people named Maxime are left in the world after Meyer and Raynaud.

RE: Class of 2025+ - CompSci87 - 11-02-2025

I've closed this thread and replaced it with a Class of 2026+ thread here:
https://thecardboard.org/board/showthread.php?tid=25848

Early posts about 2026+ are in both threads.
