That was an awful first half in just about every way.  It really seems that the two big wins over Cal during the season had our players looking past them.  Bad mistake.

The team looks so unprepared.  Playing it’s worse basketball at the most important time of the year.  Not playing defense, missing more than 50% of your free throws and bricking a bunch of 3’s means you’re going to lose.

Right.  Charmin Smith invented that defense last season and many have copied it, often to good effect.  But this year we seem to have hit enough threes to overcome that kind of defense.  3/15 is not going to do it.

A lot will depend on whether Brink can get through the 3rd quarter without picking up a 4th foul, and whether Jump will do more than 0/1.  If Brink and Jump have to find a way to make positive contributions in the second half.  The rest of the team can't win without them.

I was really afraid that it was going to be painful watching the basketball team play Cal today… except it was the 8 pm game I was thinking about… :-(

Tara is the PAC-12 coach of the year. The next 20 minutes will tell whether that honor is truly warranted this season.

Pretty pathetic display by Cardinal players and coaches so far. 41-41 at present. Tara needs to wake the team up. Cam needs to show that they deserved that POY award. 1 for 11 from the field for 6 points against Cal? Give me a break. Is this game going to be a Harvard or Ole Miss collapse?

Stanford is playing poorly but these officials are a joke.  That last foul on Demetre was called when she was heading under the basket and Suarez stumbled into her path.  No established position, just a random collision.  Foul Demetre.  Complete BS.

Cam only had a 1 efficiency for the first half, but had a 9 efficiency in the 3rd quarter alone.  Not a coincidence that Stanford doubled up Cal in that quarter 20-10.  Got through the quarter without a foul too.
