RE: Stanford in the NFL - JJJ - 12-22-2025

McCaffrey having a nice start to his evening on MNF. He would be the first to receive 1000yds and rush for a 1000yrds twice. Although I was also impressed by what Rivers accomplished for the Colts on their first score. That’s what a veteran QB brings to the table.

RE: Stanford in the NFL - BostonCard - 12-22-2025

117 yards rushing, 2 TDs receiving For CMac.

Rivers looked amazing for his second game back after a very long layoff and 44 years old. Both of his first drives were strong, and he was solid all game. He picked on Daryl Luter like crazy.

CMac looked really strong. The next two opponents will be tougher, but beatable. 49ers have 11 wins, and they've never failed to make the NFC Championship game when Kyle Shanahan's 49ers have 10 or more wins

Karty signed by the Ariz. Cardinals, aka Stanford-in-Phx. He leaves the Super Bowl bound (?) Rams and joins his former LSJU teammates Michael Wilson, Simi Fehoko and Elijah Higgins on a 3-12 team.

There’s a nice video of the high school he is coaching reacting to that first touchdown.

McCaffrey has 98 yards rushing, and it’s still the first half!

Niners escape 42-38.  Bears had first and goal with four seconds on the clock but the Niners stopped them and time ran out.  McCaffrey wound up with 140 yards rushing and a touchdown and 40 receiving.

A paycheck is a good thing.

Another 2000 yards from scrimmage year.  I remember when some said he was more suited to be a slot receiver….

RE: Stanford in the NFL - BostonCard - 12-28-2025

He would have been an all-pro slot receiver instead had he wanted to.  Hell, I think he could have been a devastating linebacker had he preferred defense.

RE: Stanford in the NFL - Nobadeer - 12-29-2025

TD receptions for Austin Hooper and Michael Wilson yesterday.

Wilson needs 93 yards for a 1,000 yard season. CMac had 1,005 for Carolina in 2019 and Ertz had 1,163 in 2018 for the Eagles. I think those were the most recent LSJU players to reach 1,000 yards receiving.

RE: Stanford in the NFL - BobK - 12-30-2025

Thanks for the update. Only other receiver I can think of is Gene Washington. Of course 12 games back then. Washington averaged 20 yards a reception 3 times

and not as long ago as Gene Washington, James Lofton who had six seasons with over 1,000 yards receiving, best year was 1,361 yards, he averaged over 20 yards/catch five times

Doug Baldwin - 1,069 yds in 2015 & 1,128 in 2016 for the Seahawks

RE: Stanford in the NFL - Mick - 12-30-2025

Others...

Chris Burford led the AFL in receiving TDs with 12 in 1962.  He had two 800+ yard receiving seasons.
Chris Walsh didn't catch many balls, but carved out an 11 year career...his last season was his second best, at age 34. 14 recpts., 172 yards.
Randy Vataha had 872 yards as a rookie. Never approached it in the rest of his seven-year career.
Margerum also had his best season as a rookie, 7 starts, 584 yards, 39 recepts.
Emile Harry had a handful of decent seasons for the Chiefs, three seasons between 430 and 520 yards.
Greg Camarillo had one season of 613 yrds, one of 552 yards, both for Miami.

That wasn’t my point. There were people who watched him at Stanford that posited he was suited to be an NFL slot receiver, not a RB.  I remember thinking “what have they been watching these 3 years.
