I flew this morning, and saw an ad for a "series" called Power Forward that includes Cameron Brink & Nneka Ogwumike. I just watched all 3 episodes which total about 45 minutes, and Tara also makes several appearances. It is a bit of marketing by Delta, but fun to listen to these ladies who I have enjoyed following for years now. Link to the first episode is below

Great recognition for Lexie, tho I suspect one motivation was to have someone from the fever replace Clark. Not that I don't think Lexie has been playing very well, but of the Stanford alums in the league who were not picked, I think a case could be made that Alana Smith was more deserving. But no matter what, I'll be watching and cheering for the "Clark" team, with Lexie and nnecka and Kiki all on it

Watched all 3 episodes. Very interesting and all 3 ladies were quite impressive, especially Madam President.

for those who say about haley that a 6'1 player with a 28% 3-point average is a tweener with no place in the wnba, i believe kayla thornton of the valkyries is now an all-star with those metrics.
True, not a great shooter. But a career 32% from 3 is "good enough" given that she's an excellent rebounder and can guard all 5 positions. She is VERY good defensively. That was one of the other things mentioned about Haley - she's limited on who she can guard.
My son texted me that Haley had a good game against the Valks last night - in 28 minutes: 10 points on 3-8 shooting, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. Apparently, closed over Dijonai and really did well playing off of Paige. Double digit scoring over last 3 games. Maybe Haley is finding her groove?!

Cam won't play today, but she is cleared to play.
“I’m cleared. It’s just getting reps at this point. Just getting back up to speed with everybody," Brink told reporters at shootaround Sat.

Nice article about Haley Jones:
https://www.mercurynews.com/2025/07/26/haley-jones-bay-area-wnba-paige-bueckers-dallas-wings-archbishop-mitty-stanford/
"After leading Stanford to the 2021 NCAA championship and being selected No. 6 overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream, Jones certainly has had to work to carve out a niche among the pro ranks.
She averaged just 3.8 points and earned just 16.2 minutes per game in two seasons in Atlanta, before being cut from the team this preseason. Jones then was waived two more times, once by Phoenix and again by Dallas, before finding her groove in her second Texas stint.
Such determination does not surprise Phillips.“Haley has always maintained a positive outlook and steady work ethic during times of adversity,” the Mitty coach said.
A poor long-range shooter (22.6% career average on 3-pointers) and an overall iffy scorer, Jones has found a second life in the WNBA as an undersized but skilled passing post.
She thrived when asked to make decisions at the elbow, giving the Valkyries fits with her ability to hit open cutters.
“I appreciate her level-headedness, and the pace she generates in our offense,” Wings coach Chris Koclanes said. “To be able to play-make and facilitate from the post position gives us another layer and dynamic to our offense.”
Placed in this new all-around role, Jones is playing the best ball of her pro career.
Even her scoring has seen an uptick: The Santa Cruz native has put up double-figure point totals in three straight games for the first time in her young career."

Been meaning to post about this for a while but who has the time these days? The complete turnaround in her W prospects in the past few weeks has quietly been one of the best stories of this season. I had the opportunity to see her play in person when the Wings visited Ballhalla and it was so great to see her back in the Bay playing well and with confidence. I think she is really thriving alongside Bueckers: the two have complementary skillsets and Dallas has a dearth of talented bigs, so Haley's been well positioned to play some point forward on offense while sometimes serving as the 5 on defense in a lineup that's heavy on mobile, sharpshooting guards and extremely light on post players. She's been so productive, in fact, that I picked her up in my fantasy league for sentimental reasons, and she's been producing at a high pace for two weeks straight now.
A lot of times, the question is about fit, and in a lineup with many three point threats and few mobile posts, Haley's weaknesses (shooting, especially from outside, and perimeter defending) have been moot, while her strengths (great paint defense, distribution from the elbow, steadiness of presence) have shined.
The only more muted note: she did not seem to get anywhere near as much applause from the crowd as Lexie did among the Ballhalla fans (even despite having 100+ friends and family in attendance), and in her post-game press conference, while she acknowledged returning to the area she grew up in, there was no specific mention of Stanford or seeing anyone from the Farm while in town. So I'm afraid whatever caused the rift on her way out the door there has not seemed to thaw.

Feel the same, and it does make me wonder what really caused the cruddy ending at Stanford. Credit to the coach (or someone at Dallas) for putting Haley in a perfect role. I've watched her play some - she does look more comfortable and we're seeing some of that Haley magic she often showed while at Stanford. Hopefully she can keep herself on the court for the remainder of the season and can improve defensively. It's still pretty rough when she has to guard quicker players. She's on an absolutely awful defensive team though - at least she's not sticking out like a sore thumb as on previous teams. Meanwhile, Cam and Lexie are establishing themselves as defensive stars in the league. I think there's a good shot that before they are done they will both be voted first team all-defense.

Friday night in the WNBA:
Ogwumike with a season high *37* pts, and 12 reb, 4 ast. But Seattle lost to LA 108-106, in double OT.
Brink came off the bench and played 12 minutes and helped LA rally in the 4th quarter to send the game to OT; scored 7 pts (all in the 4th quarter) 4 reb 2 stl 3 blk.
Fever beat the Wings. Hull, no longer starting even in Clark's absence, played 18 minutes, scored 7 pts. For Dallas, H. Jones started, played 23 minutes, 7 pts; Carrington off the bench for 16 minutes, 4 pts 3 reb.
