The quarterfinals will be the expected 1v4 and 2v3 match-ups.  In fact, the favorite and higher seed has won EVERY game so far.

Let’s hope that record is at leas  11-1 10-1 when the tournament concludes.

I was a PoliSci major so I admit I may be missing something, but this math doesn’t add up for me…

Yes, should be 10-1.  Here's how the math works out.

Initial Games: 4.  (The lower 8 seeds played in four games to determine who would meet the top 4 seeds in the quarter finals.)
Quarter Final Games: 4   (Top Four seeds each played a surivivor from the initial round)
Semi Final Games: 2  (In this case 1v4 and 2v3; Winners go to the Finals)
Final 1  (Hopefully Stanford!)

Favorites won the first 8 games leading to the semi-finals.  For Stanford to win the championship we need the favorite to win two more games.  I don't care who wins the UCLA/USC game - could they both please lose by 99?  Probably not.

So ... we need favorites to at least go 10-1 although 11-0 also works!  :)

and no defense once again. demetre on gardner started their run

76lsjumb - 76lsjumb - 03-08-2024

There isn’t another coach in the country who would refuse to call a timeout rather than allow a 17-2 run.

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - mbdude - 03-08-2024

I was thinking the same

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - TheWildJacko - 03-08-2024

What they’re letting Beers get away with is complete BS.

Oregon State should not have 1 foul this far into the quarter. Many, many missed calls so far.

Could be my last year watching this sport.

Terrible officiating for us. The amount of contact being allowed in the post is not our friend.

But.

- Terrible rebounding so far
- We can’t shoot though maybe we are heating up a bit
- Demetre was unplayable on defense. Tara pulled the chain there quickly because she had to.
- Kiki was left in the bench far too long
- and yeah I have no idea how Tara didn’t use a timeout in that run

76lsjumb - 76lsjumb - 03-08-2024

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, and I’m no fan of any of these refs as a general matter, but our horrible performance so far has absolutely NOTHING to do with the refs. Bad game coaching, horrible rebounding, and bad shot selection are the problems

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - TheWildJacko - 03-08-2024

Sure, call the foul on Iriafen, but just completely ignore the fact that Beers THREW HER DOWN after the fact.

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - TonyLima - 03-08-2024

That foul on Bosgana was possibly the worst call I’ve seen in I don’t know how long.

Update

Couple of cheap fouls on Oregon state just to make the statistics look better.

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - Hieronymus - 03-08-2024

And now the refs flip the momentum against us. BS. It had been bad but consistent. Now we have crap.

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - TheWildJacko - 03-08-2024

NOW they’re calling hand checks?? They’ve been pushing and hand checking ALL GAME, and NOW they start calling them with 10 seconds left in the half?

Only 27 points in H1? Won't get it done. Brink having a lousy night, 3 for 13 in H1.
Once again betrayed by our weak bench (just 2 points, compared with 8 for Oregon State).
Moreover, Lepolo scoreless and Bosgana with only 2. We are essentially a three-woman
offense. Something better change in H2.

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - mbdude - 03-08-2024

cam is going to need to keep her emotions in check

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - Card10Fan - 03-08-2024

Cam is really letting her frustrations affect her play. She needs to get under control and have a better second half. She missed so many shots. Yes, it's extremely physical. But tournament games in March always are. Have to respond and channel that energy in a better way. Curious to see how this second half goes and if we make any major adjustments defensively or offensively.

RE: WBB: Pac 12 Tournament - Hieronymus - 03-08-2024

Hilarious. Those corrupt mother*#/$(.

And now on brink. 7;$($/$/$*$6

I hope the refs are being paid off well today.
