I thought Karlie was "out for the year". Maybe there is some hope, but that is what I read 2 weeks ago

Looks like Dallas waived Karlie Samuelson, who will be a free agent this offseason.
Carrington seemed to lose some minutes after H. Jones emerged recently? In any event, I think the Lynx are her third WNBA team. She won Most Improved last season, and was 1st team All-Defense. I hope she makes the most of being on the top team in the league.

It seems a special kind of cruel to acquire an injured player in a trade and then dump them. Surely, they had to know she was injured? Anyone know who pays for her recovery now?
Cute moment with the Hulls, Carrington, and Smith. I would watch this TV show:

Both players with bagels on 0 for 9 shooting. Cam showed a lot of rust missing shots (6) badly. Sparks won, and there will be better games for her down the road.

She looks rusty on offense, but her mobility looks really good post injury. The timing will come back with some time.

Last night v. Conn, Cam looked fantastic on both ends of the floor.

Stanford legend VanDerveer explains why Sparks’ Cameron Brink, finally healthy, has “unlimited” potential
It is behind a paywall (Mercury News) and has no new info.
Seems like just a WNBA publicity piece, an unpaid ad for tonight's game, but Stanford followers will like it.

Standing in for all-everything Napheesa Collier, Alanna Smith had a great win yesterday for the Lynx, 25 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk in 36 min. DiJonai Carrington chipped in 12 pts, 2 reb, 2 stl, and 1 blk in 29 min for her first game as a Minnesota player.
On the other side for the Mystics, Kiki Iriafen had 12 pts, 9 reb, 4 ast, 1 blk in 27 min.

The whole Stanford WBB team and coaching staff in the stands to watch Cam and her Sparks play the Valkyries tonight. Video after of the team and staff embracing Cam on the court postgame. Gives me the feels. Cam embodies the Stanford sisterhood and clearly has such an affinity still for her 4 years on the Farm and what it means to her to be a Stanford alum even now as a pro. Love it.

Was at last night's Valkyries game - Cam got noticeable, audible applause from Ballhalla when she first checked in, but what was even more surprising to me was how loud the crowd got when they introduced the Stanford WBB team down the stretch. The Stanford players were hyping the team up and the crowd was going wild for them. After a really down season last year, it was so great to hear so much fan enthusiasm, and I'm hoping some of the electric atmosphere of Ballhalla will make its way down the peninsula to Maples this fall.
Also, can't lie, the spontaneous crowd roar of "BEAT LA" after Plum got the flagrant for kicking Veronica Burton was pretty gratifying given everything that's transpired between Bay Area and LA sports teams over the last few seasons.

Important clip: Tara "creates lesson plans for her upcoming class at Stanford"--first confirmation that I've heard. Anyone have more info? I need to know how much time I have to sell something so I can pay for it.

Had the very good fortune to get to chat with Tara about, among other things, her plans for the class this coming winter, so at least as of early summer, she was very much planning to teach it again! I think the aim was to work in new material so those of us who loved it the first time won't feel like we're just going through the same sessions again.

Tonight in the WNBA, LA lost to NY. Brink played only 5 minutes, had 2 pts, 3 rebs, no fouls. Apparently she injured her left ankle in the second quarter and did not return in the second half. Hope she is okay, the last thing she needs is another non-trivial injury.
Dallas upset the Fever 81-80. H. Jones started for Dallas, played 17 minutes, had 5 pts (2 of 7), 4 rebs.
Hull started for the Fever, scoreless in 25 minutes, took only 3 shots. 7 rebs 3 ast, 1 stl, 4 fouls.

I believe Lexie's shooting percentage is down signficiantly since Clark went out with her latest injury. Still absolutely hustling in every dimension of the game, just shooting less accurately
