D stands strong again... great 2nd half

It’s a combination of pressure up front by ASU and good coverage on the back end by their DB’s. Still, on fourth down, he needed to know to throw it even if it is a possible INT; there’s nothing to lose.

Despite being clearly 2nd best - with the number of trips into ASU territory we should be a lot closer...

This game has exposed Stanford: lousy O line pass protection and slow on D. A bleak performance. I'm sticking with my 6-6 prediction. That 4th and 8 call and execution were pathetic.

ASU runners get hit and drive for five more yards. Peat and Jones go down like ten pins. Overall you can’t teach speed and Stanford has little.
I’d like to see Patu get some reps.

Yup - ASU doing a good job but seems unwilling to throw away or tuck and run - but being fair it has been a tough day for him...

Well, that’s the aSU that I was expecting. Two 15 yard penalties,
BC
10th trip into ASU territory. 1 penalty until this drive, and three penalties in this drive alone.
BC
And this one ends in McKees third interception.

Well, at least with 3 INTs McKee is less likely to bolt for the NFL after this season.

Terrible pass by McKee, way behind the receiver. INT, ouch.

Gotta lay some blame at the feet of QB1. Three INTs is bad, even if one was not his fault
But the defense is why we lost

No lack of talented, uneducated thugs on ASU.
ASU makes Stanford look like a bunch of plodders.

10 points in 10 trips to the opponents side of the field is the problem. The defense gave up tons of yards, but only 21 points, which is a lot better than I expected.

Delay of game. LOL.

9 rushing yards. Yikes.

McKee *absolutely* threw some great passes tonight against a very good defense that did not have to respect the run. He was the team's MVP tonight, no question, and he's now *absolutely* more likely to leave for the NFL than he was before.
Also, the offense and defense both played pretty well tonight considering the opponent, though there's no doubt that ASU's passing game suffered from a key drop or two, and that Daniels also struggled with throwing an accurate deep ball when receivers were open.
I just can't imagine anyone thinking less of this Stanford team after tonight than before (injuries notwithstanding...sure hope the guys who got hurt tonight have a speedy recovery).
BYU going to make the playoff, LOL...

Other than BYU, Stanford is the only team to hold ASU to fewer than 35 points.
The defense had a poor first quarter, but settled down after giving up the 3rd score.
The offense is what cost Stanford the game.

Why is Myles Hinton still playing? The worst of a bad lot.

Hinton was a highly touted recruit coming out of HS who had offers from all the big boys.
Overrated or underdeveloped?
The game was reminiscent of Kansas State where the defense stiffened after playing poorly early, but the offense never could get it together. This time we can't blame Shaw for not playing McKee the whole game.
When you have absolutely no running attack and have to depend totally on the pass to move the ball, these kinds of games are going to happen, especially when you get up against good teams. Hard to say the defense lost this game when your offense gives up almost as many points as it scores.
