This is quite interesting, because if you look at David DeCastro now, he too has a way different body type than he did at Stanford. I'm a little surprised to read Garnett says he needs to work on his flexibility.  I had always assumed he had to be flexible to get in the low stances he did in Stanford's jumbo OL sets.

Anyway, it looks as though he's doing 13 reps of 325 in that instagram video, though he probably could have eked out 14.  That equates to being able to do close to a 500 lb. bench press.  Probably safe to pencil Josh G in as a starting Guard for the Niners in 2018.

Garnett's pass blocking has always been the problem with Santa Clara. Hopefully the weight work will enable him to compete next season.

I was surprised by this.  I guess the conditioning program that Stanford has for their OL isn't that helpful for them in the pros?  That's how I'm reading it.  I think their style is for one-on-one mauling, and not the more nimble zone style.

And I wonder if this contributes to making us vulnerable to quick teams?  Like WSU?

Weren't we primarily a zone-blocking team when Garnett won the Outland Trophy?
