ASU leading UCLA at the half 17-14. Sun Devils gave up a pick-six in the 2nd quarter and fell behind 14-10, but managed to score a TD in the final four minutes to pull ahead. Chip Kelly called a time-out with 7 seconds left to give his coaches time to get from the press box down to the locker room. Herm Edwards commented that it was a "smart time-out". Interesting. I don't know how good a coach Edwards is, but he sure does seem to be a likable fellow.

The Cougs look pretty ripe for an upset in Boulder. Only up 3 at half and Minshew doesn't look very good in windy conditions.
ASU stays alive in South. But they play at WSU next week. Utah simply must beat Oregon, but I see no way they can having lost Huntley and Moss for season.

Chip managed his time as well as he could, after losing an onside kick with 1:57. His D forced a 3 and out, and Chip used all 3 of his timeouts to get to 4th down with 1:41 left. The punt got him the ball on his 25 with 1:33 but his team self-destructed with two DoG in a row.
It didn’t help that he substituted, which gave Herm a chance to substitute, and they must have lost about 20 secs to the ref delaying the snap while letting the game clock run. Exactly what happened to us.
Tenn taking KY to the woodshed, up 24-0 in the 3Q. No sign of Chryst in the box score yet.

Wazzu distancing themselves from the Buffs early in the 4th quarter 24-7. Buffs just can't get any offense going. If Colorado loses (which looks likely), it will be their 5th straight loss after starting the season 5-0. Tennessee looks poised to upset #11 Kentucky. And yes, no sign of Chryst in the box-score.
Bama is whipping Mississippi State, even though Tagovailoa (14-21, 164 yards, 1 TD and 1 Int) is not really having a very good game. Tide up 24-0 with around 9 minutes to go in the game. MSU has had some bad calls go against them; and they have been shooting themselves in the foot with penalties and one very costly turnover that led to a Bama score just when they had gotten a stop.
Apparently, Ian Book will not play vs. Florida State; but the Seminoles are so bad this year, the Irish will certainly win without him.

I read somewhere that Tua was pulled with a bad knee (had sprained it a while back and took a helmet to it today) and Jalen Hurts is unavailable due to surgery so they're using their #3 option.

Yes, it appears Tua played only the first three quarters, then exited in favor of the 3rd stringer, Mac Jones. But even through those three quarters, he was not really lighting it up and got sacked a number of times. I watched the first half; and it was not his usual fireworks.
Oklahoma and OK State are tied 41-41 with 6:42 in the 4th quarter. Cowboys are driving. On OK State's last TD, the kicker missed the PAT, otherwise it would be 42-41 in favor of the Cowboys. Now, they have to score to avoid OT. Ammendola will not be hailed in Stillwater if this goes pear-shaped on OK State.
Utah living off their kicker and their defense in the game vs. Oregon. 19-7 at the half, with 4 FGs by Gay, the last one a 55-yarder. That fellow is NFL material. Oregon looks bleak on offense. Utah's back-up QB (Shelley) is outperforming Herbert.

Oregon came all the way back to take the lead after a blocked punt, but then Utah drove the length of the field, went ahead on a TD, and went on to win by 7.

USC up 14-nothing on Cal.
Cal has 70 yards and 3 first down.
Nice tribute to Noah Williams. Hoping we'll get to see him make some plays in the game.

Cal now has scored 16 unanswered points on a safety and two touchdowns, the second after an interception. If Cal pulls this off, then both Stanford and Cal will be bowl-eligible next week.

And if Cal does pull this off, Helton's seat will get all the hotter. USC has the ball down one with about 6 and change to go.

I didn't watch the first half, but this second half, I've been impressed with Cal's defense. Grant it, Daniels and SC's offense look really mediocre.

Identical marks. They have a much better D and are playing at home. Nobody's won more than 7 in a row. I don't like our chances, but I'm hopeful

We have eight in a row already. Our only hope next week is that we play mistake-free. Cal has very little offense, so we don't want to set them up in scoring position (which is what USC did).
RE: Other NCAA games today -

LOL, gotta laugh at USC. They would likely get the ball back after a replay review establishes the Cal receiver on third down, but the USC DB gets flagged for an unsportsmanlike. Cal will take the gift.

USC may just have given the game away with an unsportsmanlike penalty. That just kept the stalled Cal drive alive in the 4th quarter.

Yes, those are the mistakes we are not allowed to make next week. Cal's offense is feeble. But if we give them points, their defense is good enough to keep you behind.

Nice call on 3d. Garbers didn’t finish the run.
RE: Other NCAA games today -

Oh man, and on a perfect fake on third and short, Garbers started to slide just before the line to gain. I'm guessing Wilcox goes for it to drive the dagger into SC.

Or a FG maybe?
Could be game over. Cal 1st down to the Trojan 19 yard line.

Congrats to Cal, who beats USC to become bowl eligible. They did a nice job taking advantage of Trojan mistakes.
Gotta bring our A game against Cal next week.
