In case you missed it, here's a comprehensive review of how former Stanford players did in the NFL this season. I'll admit that I don't follow the NFL as closely as most football fans, but I was surprised by a lot of this. Pretty impressive.

David DeCastro is having a hall of fame career. My guess is that DeCastro, along with Richard Sherman, will be the next two Stanford players to be elected to the HOF.

As a Steeler fan I've been following DeCastro's prospects of making the hall of fame. Most of the local Pittsburgh sports writers think that DeCastro is looking in from the outside and will probably not be enshrined. The reasoning is that interior linemen have a tough time making the hall of fame and typically have to have an extremely outstanding career to be enshrined. When comparing DeCastro's career with another Pittsburgh interior lineman, Alan Faneca, he is lacking in credentials. Faneca retired in 2010 and was inducted this year. Not saying DeCastro won't make it, but I think it will be tough.
Alan Faneca:
6x First Team All Pro
2x Second Team All Pro
David DeCastro
2x First Team All Pro
1x Second Team All Pro
Agree on Sherman.

I feel like there are some intresting analytics for O-linemen now that were not in play 10 years ago, particularly pass-blocking data. No idea how well DeCastro grades out on all such metrics, but here's one report:
Quote: 44. DAVID DECASTRO, G, PITTSBURGH STEELERS
2020 grade: 63.4
Why he's ranked here: DeCastro has seen his run-blocking grades take a hit in recent seasons, which has led to lower overall grades than the career-high 89.0 mark we saw in 2017, but he remains a wall in pass protection. He joins Zack Martin and Brandon Brooks as the only two other active guards with at least 1,000 pass-blocking snaps and a pass-blocking grade of 90.0 or higher since 2015.
