David DeCastro is having a hall of fame career. My guess is that DeCastro, along with Richard Sherman, will be the next two Stanford players to be elected to the HOF.
As a Steeler fan I've been following DeCastro's prospects of making the hall of fame. Most of the local Pittsburgh sports writers think that DeCastro is looking in from the outside and will probably not be enshrined. The reasoning is that interior linemen have a tough time making the hall of fame and typically have to have an extremely outstanding career to be enshrined. When comparing DeCastro's career with another Pittsburgh interior lineman, Alan Faneca, he is lacking in credentials. Faneca retired in 2010 and was inducted this year. Not saying DeCastro won't make it, but I think it will be tough.
Alan Faneca:
6x First Team All Pro
2x Second Team All Pro
David DeCastro
2x First Team All Pro
1x Second Team All Pro
Agree on Sherman.
