I'm in Australia this week and of course it's the one time that the Stanford game is not Pac-12 after dark. Will it be worth waking up at 6:30AM on Sunday to watch?

Earlier this season I thought Wazoo was going to wipe us but I think they have been a bit exposed, and the game is at Stanford.
One the one hand, Wazoo has an aggressive, blitzing pass rush (3rd in Pac 12 sacks going into the Utah game) and a mobile QB, and both of these are Kryptonites for Stanford, so you’d think the game would be out of reach.
But Wazoo’s offense became predictable for Utah, and Utah’s defense became more and more keyed in over the game, and I think this is why Wazoo has been scoring fewer points lately. Also, they are the first team I’ve seen this season with less ball security than Stanford, so the Cardinal could actually end up with a positive turnover margin. And while their qb is mobile, he is more a designed run qb, and most importantly, his specialty is not finding downfield receivers when he scrambles. Besides RBs, Stanford appears pretty healthy, and maybe this is the game the oline actually picks up the blitzes and sometimes protects McKee.
I think the game is a 50-50. A win gives the Cardinal a decent shot at a bowl game, so it is almost a must-win.
The Cougs will Coug it, and Stanford wins 16-14.

Well, FWIW Wilner not only predicts Stanford to beat the spread, but to win it outright.
I'm thinking if we do win, it will be a close, low scoring affair much like ND and ASU. So whether a game like that is worth getting up at 6:30 AM to watch is debatable.
Lets go with Stanford 19, Wazzu 17.

Rain forecast for mid-afternoon. I think it will be close, we win 23-21. Two TDs and 3 FGs.

Ah, yes, the Card will OWN the Cougs! Wazzoo will wilt in the rain and the rabid hometown throng primed for yet another victory!

My problem in trying to be optimistic about this game is the reality of our putrid Shawfense. For the UCLA game, I boldly predicted that we would score two FGs and two TDs for a total of 20 points. That proved to be too aggressive for the current state of our offense. In the past three games, we have scored 16, 15 and 13 points, and these totals were not exactly against juggernaut defensive units. After 8 games, Wazzu has given up an average of 20.8 ppg, which indicates that they have some defensive prowess. This is compared to the 28.8 ppg that Stanford has given up.
Wazzu is not an offensive juggernaut: their ppg total matches ours exactly and exhibits an even lower output than Stanford's offense over the last three games (41 points for Wazzu vs. 44 points for Stanford). But that poor output was against an arguably tougher set of opponents (USC, Oregon State and Utah).
The current line is Wazzu -4.5. I think we can do better than that, but I still think we will fall short.
How about 24-20 Cougs? Still feels like too much offense for two teams that have amassed 85 points during the last three games. That's 28.33 points per game for BOTH teams. Not sure why the O/U is currently pegged at 49.5. I guess the assumption is that something has to happen on the 10+ possessions each team will have in the course of 60 minutes. Let's see.
The game runs concurrently with #1 Tennessee vs. #3 Georgia. Which one will you be watching? This is one of those rare times I can actually watch a game (08:30 PM CET kick-off). But will it be worth missing Tennessee-Georgia to watch two Pac-12 bottom-feeders slug it out for the cellar?

Cougs/Stanford? Breeders Cup featuring Nest, Flightline and Life is Good?
Those of you who watch the cellar dwellers please make the game thread interesting.

George, NO, it won't. Shaw's post-game presser, while as predictably boring as his playcalling, will be more exciting. Shaw is currently scouting the soccer team for a running back.
WSU 27
SU 19

It will be worth waking up at 6:30 am. Don't waste your time with Stanford football though, get outside and enjoy the Aussie spring!
Think WSU will Coug it more than Shaw will turtle it. Have it, for now, at WSU -13, Stanford -9. Both teams are so bad, they should lose points. . . .

Uuuuuh, will be watching the BCS Playoff Play-in game: TENN vs GEOG, and DVR the STAN vs WAST game.
Looking to fast forward through punts and numerous humbling sacks of McKee, on a sloppy field. Showers, not a soaker.
Karty is good for 3 FGs at home in the face of some rain. Does Stanford offer ANY Home Field advantage? Any?
The key on points for this game is Cougs getting THREE Cardinal turnovers for additional points.
On F+ rankings, WAST lists at #46, while STAN has drooped to #76.
We don't have any RBs. NONE.
STAN (3-5) 16: 3 Karty FGs + some kind of Defensive red zone block or fumble recovery.
WAST (4-4) 23: from aggressive defensive blitzing and turnovers. Maybe a special teams TD or big gainer.

Yeah, I have decided to watch the Vols vs. the Bulldogs. If the halftimes get out of sync, I may tune into the RB-less antics of Stanford football for however many minutes that is.

Yes, I have already been imagining the contrasting stadium settings between Georgia-Tennessee and Stanford-WSU. The crowd dynamics will be polar opposites, with energy waning among the Stanford fans once the tailgating is over, while Sanford stadium in Athens will be caught up in an ever-increasing crescendo until kick-off time and remain deafening until the last whistle is blown.
For the record, things were quite different 12 years ago, at least in terms of on-the-field results. Georgia and Tennessee were unranked, while Stanford ended the 2010 season as the #4 team in the country. Just 7 years ago, Stanford ended the 2015 season at #3, while Georgia was unranked and Tennessee sneaked in at #22 after a 9-4 campaign. How much has changed in that interim!

Back in the Jurassic Age I convinced my hotel in Melbourne to open up their business center at 7am on a Sunday. I was able to use one of their computers to log on to the KSZU broadcast. I was rewarded about an hour later, listening to Casey's Run For the Roses live.
So, yeah, go for it. I think this will be a good game.

Add weather and this could be the smallest crowd in Stanford football history. I may be incorrect, but my memory is that after Lima Prieta they played Utah at home before an almost empty stadium.

How can we have the home field advantage when there are only 2500 fans in the stands? Oh, I forgot: the mattresses.

Well, sadly I'm hard wired. Did my best to sleep in but couldn't manage knowing that there was a Stanford game on.

We're no longer in the Jurassic Age, but sadly things haven't changed too much. Pac-12 network is telling me that it's having "Video Playback issues". So I'm listening on KZSU. At least I didn't need them to open the business center. But that's about the only good thing I can say about this experience.

yup. 15,000. Lost by 3. After the game, Stanford was 3-8, Utah was 4-8.
