Best of luck to Coach Taylor. Hope he's wildly successful. Though it will be a tough dish to climb:

That was a uniquely bad article.

“The Cardinal have lost 16 players to the portal, and their top two recruits as well. Not having a coach prevented them from being able to try and find transfers that could be potential fits to fill the brobdingnagian holes they will have. ”

players are not “lost to the portal” as if it is a black hole. The portal is a means to transfer, but players can and do enter the portal and then come back. Taylor has time to convince those players to come back.

And having signed a coach two weeks ago (the day Shaw left) would not have let them find players in the portal. The issue is not the lack of a coach, but the difficulty of the pathway.

This was probably posted previously.  The article says Andrew Luck was on the search committee.

Taylor is one thing — but as the saw goes, amateurs talk tactics, pros talk logistics. Is Taylor going to have the resources (and does he have the acumen to utilize what resources he has) to succeed? That’s what I’m focused on in near term.

Yes, it shows he has no idea what he’s talking about relative to the portal situation.
One thing for certain - it’s a complete shift. Now we see if he can win playing this style at Stanford.  Let’s hope he gets admin help.

And, of course, Esquer was one of us first. And Haase wanted to be, but probably won’t be much longer. 

But, yeah, kind of a tough look at the moment…
