given the outlook for the rest of the season and my unwillingness to pick us to lose, unless things turn around I'll be passing on future predictions....

I am also unwilling to pick us to lose, but if the team is going to lose than I'm going to lose right along with them . . . just as I have done for the past 3 seasons.

I'm not unwilling to pick us to lose if the data entrails justify it.
UA's QB is much better than either of ours. So, UA 35, SU 24. Their O and D lines will decimate ours.

We might be dipping into uncharted waters. Even including the depths of last season we have never had a predictions contest where at least one hapless cardboarder (often yours truly) doesn't pick us to win. Is this the week where it starts?

I don’t even believe this as I write this but I gotta believe Stanford gets another win this season.
Stanford surges with energy playing in front of students for the first time this season, wins 27-24.
Hopefully they get some picks, throw to Yurosek, stick to the running game if it’s working.

Chances of a victory are pretty slim, but at least as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with being super optimistic and predicting it.
It doesn't cost anything to be wrong.

It's OK to be a diehard Stanford fan and pick us to lose on any given weekend. Objectively, we suck at this stage of our program's history. Life was different a decade ago. Now, we do not appear to have the firepower on either side of the ball to win many of the games ahead of us, so if I am going to participate in a "prediction" contest, I am going to let rational judgment prevail. We are likely to lose this Saturday. We could win, but it is less likely than losing. I would prefer to see us win; but my preferences don't count for squat in this universe. So Arizona rips off 5 TDs, while we get into the endzone twice, and Karty tacks on a pair of FGs. 35-20 Wildcats.

The first year or two we had this thread I enthusiastically participated. I think one year I even wound up in the top five by the end of the year.
I stopped participating a few years ago, and won't be participating this year. It is no fun to objectively guess at our margins of defeat.
