Any Intel on why? Obviously this comes at a non-ideal point given that this is one of our last chances to grab a good non-conference win...

Hopefully this means we see plenty of Eschmeyer?

Agara was rebounding during warm ups. At least watching on tv

RE: Washington @ Stanford WBB - martyup - 12-19-2025

I'm getting "This channel is not part of your TV package" even though I have a subscription to ESPN extra.  In the past I have been able to watch ACCNX.  Does anyone know how a work around so I can watch?

I have logged out and back into ESPN.

Announcer said Agara not expected to be a long term injury. Just decided not to go tonight.

RE: Washington @ Stanford WBB - stanford22 - 12-19-2025

Why is Lapolo only looking to one side?   swain and Ogden were both open and calling for the ball.  She needs to have better court awareness.  Need to finish at the rim.

As expected, defensive battle and we're tied at the half. We're some sloppy passes away from having a solid lead. If there's one skill our whole team needs to work on, it's passing the ball inside. I think a lot of times when we play "pass around the perimeter" it'd because no one feels confident getting it inside.

All that said, we definitely benefited from have Sellers on the bench with two fouls for most of the first half.

Excellent observation 2006. A problem for sure. Another is offensive rebounding. Stanford 2 in the first half

For sure. Nunu is out. Eschmeyer is still learning how to box out. Stevenson can be good at it at times but she's undersized. Somfai has been committing some really stupid fouls and she's probably our best rebounder 10 games into her college career.

Also, I like shay on Sellers. This is a game she should see a lot of action.

We look really out of sorts offensively. This will be a game if we end up losing will be a result of our lack of offensive creativity. A lot of time wasted each possession to get to the ball to the high post leading to wasted possessions and turnovers. MAS is not someone who should be decision making at the elbow each time. Need the tempo to be much faster on offense.

Really agree on that. She doesn't pass well or think quickly on her feet, and she has a slow first step so she can't benefit from a defender sagging off her.

Really nice win. The game turned when we went with Shay (and her energy) and had a smaller quicker lineup in the 4th quarter. Swain and Somfai got a chance to play through mistakes and both had BIG moments in the 4th late. I also thought Lepolo had a very nice second half. Ogden too. Congrats to Coach Paye on her first ranked victory. Lots of resilience in this one.

RE: Washington @ Stanford WBB - BostonCard - 12-19-2025

crazy.  We were perfect from the line until the last minute, then Clardy and Ogden miss four (out of eight) free throws.  On the other hand, we were offensive rebound challenged all game, but successfully rebounded our own missed free throws twice.  The net is that we are up 5 with 3 seconds left and about to beat the #22 ranked team without our best player!

BC

And that’s your final!  We came back from an 8 pt deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to win by 5.

RE: Washington @ Stanford WBB - martyup - 12-19-2025

ALL RIGHT NOW!!  And without Agara.  Somfai is legit.  Swain and Lepolo were clutch.  Great team win.  Kicked their a$$ in the 4th Q 25-12.

Oh, and I’m obliged to say 6-7!  If you don’t know, ask a middle schooler.  If you don’t understand, sorry, I don’t either.

When I was in middle school the cool thing to say was "shay". It meant about as much as 6-7 does.

Anyway, nice victory.

Best win of the Paye era?

RE: Washington @ Stanford WBB - Nobadeer - 12-19-2025

Great 4th quarter by all, incl. the oft maligned Lepolo. Somfai missed some putbacks and layups yet made two key outside shots late in the game. Sellers seemed to score at will in the 3rd quarter but Ijiwoye disrupted her quite a bit after that.

Pres. Levin in attendance. Didn't see the new AD there.

On to the Chase Ctr. Beat the Dux!
