I think we've all read those stories about how Rosen's ego and attitude in the camps made people question just how coachable he was. I was just pointing out that I have seen him play in some of the UCLA games and I have yet to see any behavior from him that would make me question his attitude, or his ability to get along with coaches and teammates.

There was almost something anti-climatic about C-Mac breaking Toby's record.  Sort of maybe a comment on how far the program has progressed since then.  When Toby did it, it was the highlight of his should-have-been-Voldemort campaign, it was our first home win against a top 25 team in who knows how long, and it made it bowl eligible for the first time in 8 years.  The whole game was amazing and the record was the cherry on top.  But the way things have gone since then, it's seems like yeah of course we'll be able to break some of our own records, duh.  And while this was a great high profile game and great win, it feels like just another solid game from what is shaping up to be a solid team; unlike the 2009 Oregon game this one maybe won't stand out from the other games this year to go on some wall of fame.

My friend and I also discussed this, I think the Toby game stood out more because he basically carried us to a win that game (along with a bunch of Oregon players).  It was obvious without Toby we would not have won, maybe wouldn't have been close.  Whereas last night, as amazing as C-Mac is, I'm not sure we would have been that much worse off with, for example, Barry J getting all those carries.

It looks like they are projecting the most likely conference championship match-up to be Stanford against the Spoiled Children. They have Utah with only a 25% chance of beating the spoiled children. I don't see how they can rate the spoiled children so highly.

Because on a per-play basis they're very good, almost as good as we are. In the analyses BC and others were doing before last night's game USC was consistently just behind us. I think this might be a case where a mid-season coaching change actually improves a team quite a bit. This weekend is a huge test for them.

I don't think that Stanford's DBs are outstanding as a group at this time - maybe as high as good. I saw the DBs defend a lot of passes and I saw a lot of UCLA receivers running somewhere between poorly and un-covered.

The large number of passes defended makes me think that they'll eventually get there, after all everyone but Harris is basically seeing their first extended playing time.  But DBs have to be consistent, mistakes one out of three plays leads to the other team scoring a ton.
