Currently:
Christian McCaffrey's All-Purpose Yardage
Through 11 Games:
Rushing: 1,546 yards
Receiving: 416 yards
Punt Ret: 32 yards
Kick Ret: 813 yards
Total: 2,807 yards
Average: 255.18 ypg
NEW STANFORD RECORD
NEW PAC-12 RECORD
NCAA Record -- 3,250 yards (Barry Sanders)
*Needs to Average: 148 ypg
* Assuming Stanford plays only 3 more games.
You'll notice that the addition of the Pac-12 Championship game makes the NCAA record easily within reach. A few other notes on McCaffrey after last night's performance, most already known:
School single-game record for APY with 389, ten more than Milburn's in 1990 Big Game.
Ninth-straight 100-yard game, extending his own school record.
His 1,546 yards rushing rank third in Stanford history, 325 yards behind Gerhart's record.
With 1,846 career rushing yards, he's 13th in school history.
He and Hogan are 403 yards behind Gerhart and Luck's record as the top rushing tandem in Stanford history.
He is third on the school's single-season kick return list, 354 yards behind Owusu's record.
Finally, the NCAA rushing leaders:
1. Fournette, 1582
2. McCaffrey, 1546
3. Freeman, 1539
4. Henry, 1526
So even without all the receiving and kick return yardage, he looks like a Voldemort candidate. When you add them in, he's your winner.
Please clear the field! The game is not over!
