Yeah, I was going to say that UCLA is getting pushed around big time. Makes me wonder why I was worried about playing them.

Not more than 10 minutes ago, Rod Gilmore talked at length about 5-7 teams making bowls. He was upset at first but then later thought it was a sign of the times because since 2010, multiple pro teams with losing records have made the playoffs.
But yeah, UGLY getting run over and around by a team with a losing record.

There are 40 bowl games; there should be about half that many. Forget about 5-7 teams; 6-6 teams shouldn't be making it either (especially those with wins over FCS teams).
And by the way, 2 of Nebraska's 5 wins were against South Alabama and South Mississippi. Both are FBS teams, but come on. Three wins against Power-5 teams?
As far as the game, UCLA catches a break when a Nebraska player is tossed for a controversial targeting. I don't think he was targeting, even though there may have been contact above the head, but I wasn't nearly as apoplectic as the announcers. The way to avoid these penalties is to, you know, make sure all the contact happens below the neck. In any case, the Chosen One throws an interception on the very next play.

Still too early prognostication: I'm guessing that after this game, the Bruins are going to be really, REALLY tired of literally being run over by teams in red and white uniforms.

I thought couging meant snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. UCLA hasn't been close enough to spot victory with binoculars thus far.
(Well, they did have the lead early on some long passes by the Rosen one, but were getting physically overpowered whenever on defense.)

Well, UCLA answered to get to within 8, then stopped Nebraska, and was driving some bubble screens going for good gains. Then... on a third down the center snaps it before the QB is ready, and UCLA's all-everything kicker missed the 46 yard field goal attempt. Ukropina, he is not.

Theoretically the Mora regime's headed in a solid direction. Were it not for the injuries this year, I think UCLA would've had a solid shot at the playoff. But something seems...off about UCLA throughout the Mora tenure.

Losing Miles Jack (among others) obviously hurt them. But ultimately, there is no getting around the fact that they are soft, and compound it by being sloppy and undisciplined.

Mora says the team needs to get bigger, get stronger. Has he learned nothing from playing Stanford? Maybe another team in red and white had to bring that lesson home.

Mora seems like the next Mark Richt. Recruits really well, and maybe makes it to a a few conference championship games, but just doesn't have what it takes to beat the best coaches as consistently as his talent suggests he maybe should.
That all said, show me an 8-4 team excited to play a 5-7 team in a bowl game. That's not happening. Despite the fact Nebraska lost 4 games on the final play, there was no way UCLA's team was super excited to play that game. And I'm sure playing it at the site of the Pac-12 CG (where they wanted to be) didn't help matters much either.
